Toronto-based Startup Vaultie Qualifies to make Government Security Easier.
Vaultie News

Following three successful government test projects, the Canadian digital trust company's Document Rails technology is available to federal departments and agencies through the Pathway to Commercialization for the next three years.

‍

TORONTO, ON — October 15, 2026 — Vaultie Inc., a Canadian digital trust company, is proud to announce that its Document RAILS technology has been approved as part of the Innovative Solutions Canada Pathway to Commercialization (PTC). Document RAILS prevents document fraud by enabling organizations to issue digital documents embedded with verifiable credentials, allowing recipients to check whether a document is authentic, current, and unchanged. The PTC provides a procurement pathway that can enable government organizations to procure and adopt innovative Canadian technologies without the traditional laborious bureaucratic process.

‍

“We’re thrilled to have been selected for Innovative Solutions Canada’s Pathway to Commercialization,” said Meyer Mechanic, Founder and CEO of Vaultie. “Fraud is a rapidly evolving landscape, and programs like these are essential to deploy Canadian-built technology that strengthen trust in Canada’s digital infrastructure quickly enough to keep up with fraudsters.”

‍

From Government Testing to Real World Solutions

‍

Proven in government: Vaultie’s test projects through the Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) testing stream proved the technology’s easy adaptability into public sector environments.

Privacy by design: Built using W3C Verifiable Credentials and Decentralized Identifiers, Vaultie’s technology is designed to share only the information required for a given transaction.

Versatility in action: Vaultie’s Canadian-owned and operated technology is well-positioned to operate across a complex network of multiple government systems.

‍

Canadians currently lose upwards of $2 billion every year to frauds including credit card fraud, mortgage scams, fake auto loans, and falsified immigration documents. When implemented, the Document RAILS system will allow ministries to use verifiable credentials that can easily verify IDs such as licenses and permits, and ensure that someone is exactly who they say they are.

‍

Vaultie is the perfect partner for the government’s push towards Canadian-made technology. “In a world of increasingly sophisticated bad actors, security needs to be our top priority,” said Mechanic. “The government needs to know exactly who they’re dealing with, and our job is to eliminate any doubt from that process.”
