How to verify your identity with Vaultie
Your law firm has asked you to complete an identity verification request through Vaultie. The process is secure, simple, and usually takes about two minutes once your documents are ready.
Step 1: Open your verification request
You’ll receive an email with the subject line: “You Have an Identity Verification Request” To begin, select the Begin Verification button in the email. This will take you to Vaultie, where you’ll be asked to enter the email address where the verification request was sent.
Step 2: Create your account
Create your Vaultie account using the same email address that received the identity verification request. You’ll be asked to enter your: Full legal name Date of birth Make sure this information matches your government-issued ID exactly.
Step 3: Choose your document type
Select the type of government-issued ID you want to verify. Vaultie supports thousands of identity documents from countries around the world. Once you choose your document type, you can upload a photo from your computer or take a photo using your mobile device.
Step 4: Upload your ID and take a live selfie
You’ll be asked to upload a photo of your government-issued ID and take a live selfie. Vaultie compares your selfie to your ID to help confirm that you are the person presenting the document. This helps your law firm verify your identity securely and reduce the risk of fraud or impersonation.
Verifying two pieces of ID
Your law firm may ask you to verify two pieces of government-issued ID. If so, start by uploading your first ID and completing your live selfie. Once your first ID has been verified, you’ll be redirected to choose and upload your second ID. The verification process usually takes about two minutes once everything has been submitted.
Step 5: Consent to share your verification results
After your identity has been successfully verified, you’ll be asked to consent to sharing your information with your law firm. Select Yes, I agree to complete the process. Your law firm will then be notified that your identity verification request has been completed.
Tips for taking a great selfie
Use good lighting
Make sure your face is clearly visible without glare, shadows, or harsh brightness.
Look at the camera
Keep your eyes focused on the camera when taking the photo.

Hold the camera slightly above or below eye level and tilt your head slightly if needed.

Tips for verifying your identity
Use a valid ID
Make sure your government-issued ID is current and has not expired.
Upload a clear photo
Your ID should be easy to read, with no glare, blur, shadows, or cropped edges.
Use the original document
The uploaded image must be a photo of the original ID, not a scan, photocopy, or screenshot.
Use the device that works best for you
You can complete your identity verification from a mobile device or desktop.
